If you are a student we invite you to participate in our Bachelor Research Project and Internship programme. Successful candidates will spend four weeks at one of KFPD’s locations, with reimbursement of travel-related expenses (accommodation/flight).

- "Cash Flow at Risk and Value at Risk as risk indicators in debt portfolios of local governments"
The aim of this thesis is to compare different types of risk assessment and determine, via a quantitative approach, which method is most suitable for local governments. Language: German. Duration: 6 weeks. Max length: 30 pages plus mathematical appendix including functions (VB, .net, java or c++/#) - "Portfolio analysis via performance indicators for interest-rate swaps (vanilla and hybrid swaps)"
The aim of this thesis is to give an overview of financial indicators which can be used to measure the performance of derivatives and make suggestions for the development of a total return measurement suitable for local governments and SME companies. Language: German/English. Duration: 6 weeks. Max length: 30 pages plus mathematical appendix including functions (VB, .net, java or c++/#) - "Commodity derivatives in action: theory and practice"
The aim of this thesis (to be based on a case-study for a key commodity such as diesel/nickel/aluminium) is to analyse the risk-cycle to which companies are exposed as a result of commodity price fluctuations and to describe the opportunities and limitations of managing risk via operating resources and derivative products. Language: German/English. Duration: 6 weeks. Max length: 30 pages plus mathematical appendix including functions (VB, .net, java or c++/#)
In order to make the research findings available to a wider audience in academia and business they will be published in our Knowledge Base upon completion.
